Maset'

We were at an important moment of our little kennel. It was difficult to progress, it was difficult to find really what we were looking for in the breed, in France. It was time for us to look what we can buy in foreign countries. We had in our mind a very precise idea of the ideal Skye but we didn’t find the dog. We wanted to import some new blood, to arrive to produce the dog of our dreams. We were looking after perfect top line, some lovely necks, some elegance and style, some slim dogs, very enclosed with the standard, some pigmentation and some blacks dogs. We were in 1998, Mariquita Braveaddition has just won the Cruft, and we decided to enter in contact with her breeders, Allan and Peter of Mariquita Kennel. The first phone contact was very pleasant, we have congratulated them for their win, and they have seem to be interested by our step. We wanted few photos of their dogs, because we wanted to know each of the in details, we wanted to study them. Never, we received these photos. We knew that English people don’t sell to foreign people they don’t know except if they are introduce by one of their friend. We met then Jill Hadleigh (Reignmakers kennel). We exchanged a lot of letter and phone calls during almost one year. She proposed us a little male of 9 months, but it was not really the type I liked. She was not very pleased about our answer but I think she understood. One day, we received a letter from Mariquita Kennel. He  followed our length, and heard good things about us and he had a little bitch for us, a baby of few days. We  jumped on the occasion. We  had few test to do. He sent us a video when the pups were one month and he asked us to choose the best. My choice was for a little black bitch, already very elegant, , very beautiful and very similar with my ideal Skye. I called him to explain my choice. He  congratulated me, and said that my choice was the best. The same as his. I was happy and proud of myself. I had to choose an automobile name because it was the choice for this litter. I proposed him to call the little bitch “Coccinelle” because in France it’s a very famous car…  He answered me that she will called Maserati finally. When we went to pick her, her name was finally Flashporche but we never called her like that, she staid our Maserati, Maset'’ for friends…We bought two pups, a male for a friend who is living in the south of France and our bitch. Six months after, Allan gave us the beautiful Edition… We  bought two supers bitches and we won two marvelous friends. A very rich relation, very important, who gave us the opportunity to advance in our kennel. They are very important in our life. Our little Maserati did a lot of road, she is now a Multi Champion. I let her during two years to her breeders to be shown in her natal country and she was wonderful and has had a lot of success there. She became English Champion, and Top CC Bitch 2003 in England. It was very hard for me to let my bitch because she was like my daughter and I miss her a lot. When I have seen back Maserati for the first time, one year after our separation, it was so hard, so difficult, so cruel. She was there and I couldn’t touch her before she entered in the ring because she must staid absolutely concentrated. She was great, wonderful, so proud. I was so proud of her. My baby, my little daughter  won the Cruft. It was a so intense moment… After judgments, I came too her, called her but she didn’t realize immediately. I sat on the floor, took her face’s hair out of her eyes and then, she was absolutely crazy, she recognized me, she didn’t forget me… The judge understood the emotion and ask me to do a turn in the ring with my dog. A great, great moment full of emotions… I  cried a lot and the public was very happy of this intense moment of emotion. A lot of people clapped in their hands. All the friends who were with me had red eyes and if it was not the emotion, I don’t know what it was. Maset'’ came back at home this year (2004) and she won’t leave it again. It’s my “Zebulon”, she is built with a big battery, Mrs 100 000 Volts., always in action. A little bit timid with the others, but so beautiful. My Maset'’? A fabulous love story, unique in this world, my bitch for always and for a long, long time…
